The clarificatios you have given through the site regarding the passing over of responsibities on 30 th. June are already brought to the notice of the Rotarians through various books and publications of Rotary. The change over of the positions automatically by the midnight of June 30 th. is experienced by Rotarians who use the site. The informations you have repeated are very useful to the Rotarians to get their doubts clarified. Sir I practically experienced changes in the site last year.
Thank you Sir very much for the clarifications given by you. | |

Dear Rtn Vijay Kumar Menon,
I think almost everybody in Rotary knows that the Rotary year starts on 1st July. Early installations in June may be only because of the convenience of all concerned. But, that should not be a problem at all, since, irrespective of the date of taking over, every club will officially have change-over effect from 1st July itself.
For practical reasons, in a city like Cochin, with 25 clubs, we cannot think of all clubs having their installations on 1st July itself. Therefore, the installations are spread over a month starting from middle of June, ending around middle of July. Nevertheless, all Presidents are presumed to be assuming office on 1st July.
Have a nice day ...
Regards,

Dear Rtn Vijay Kumar Menon,
Your suggestion is a good one, which needs to be addressed sooner than later, since these days a lot of activities for/belonging to the next year are done during the current year. The finest examples will be District Assembly, PETS, DOTS, etc., and of course the Installation of new office-bearers of many clubs. And it is only fair that these events are also displayed during next year.
Commencing the Rotary year from June, for the above reason, is however not feasible or appropriate, since this year's programs will be done by many clubs till the last day of June and they cannot be displayed as part of next Rotary year. For this reason alone, the cutoff date cannot be earlier than 1st July every year.
The only way this can be handled is by adding the year information to the event, when adding/updating the events. I have already provided for this facility in the program last year itself, but did not implement it since such events were only very few. However, this year such events are on the rise and therefore I will implement this as soon as I can. Currently, I am working on the automatic changeover at 30th June midnight.
Thank you for your valuable suggestion and motivation.
YiR,
Rtn James Kalassery,
DCIR/DWM.
